Did you know, and you probably do, Fall is the most popular quilt season of all seasons? I am guilty of Falling for it too! Most of the quilts i have made and the quilts i have designed are full of Fall Flavor.

Today am recapping my Fall Designs and the first one up is Pumpkin Spice. It is rich rich rich in color, and what makes it appealing is the blending and contrasting of the fabrics. Completely made from scraps, Pumpkin Spice is a fall fabric stash buster!

Cinderella Pumpkins came next and offers 2 versions inside the pattern. Long rectangular pumpkins with a hook for a stem, create the unique appeal of the real thing.

And So it Crows is one of my absolute favorites! The stacks of crows helping each other to reach the top of the sunflowers and grab a seed or two! This late Summer into Fall quilt can hang around for months!

Completely a fun quilt to make, Indian Summer is bursting with late Summer/early Fall blooms. A fabric saving tip is included when making those cute pinwheels too!

PieBirds! One might say i have a thing for blackbirds or crows. One might be right. My PieBird pattern offers a hot pad design, easily made from scraps and a wonderful quick gift idea…plus instructions for a table runner. The checkerboard center of the runner is the perfect spot for the warm glow of a Fall candle.

Did’nt I already say something about crows? Here they come again! Hum, what is it with me? Bold in every way, these crows are standing guard over their pumpkin patch! Easy wall hanging size to welcome the season with My Crow Garden

Below is just a sampling of School’s in Session. Included in the pattern is a large apple quilt and a small 4 pencil wall hanging. From those patterns, one can create something all their own like this apple/pencil mat which make a great welcome back teacher gift!

Poor kitty! Those (yup) crows perched on crescent moons are circling around, taunting her as if they had nothing better to do! A lot of work goes into The Crow’s Meow but every cut and quarter inch is worth every stitch! However, if you are not up for the star crazy crows…that entire border can be eliminated and you’ll still have a wonderful quilt with a harvest kitty surrounded by magical stars.

Sometimes my mind just wont shut off. Hence the creation of my Crescent Cat table runner. One can purchase this pattern and replace the star crazy crows in The Crow’s Meow with these kitties! The crows and kitty blocks are interchangeable.

Oh Jack, you are so darling!! Quick and easy Fall project measuring 12” square. And I’m sure you will have scraps enough to create a few Jacks to hand out to your friends and keep one for yourself too!

Sharing the Harvest is a larger quilt with a warmth only pumpkin colors bring in the Fall. Cute curly stems, stars that light up the midnight skies and a scrappy border are sure to make this a Fall favorite in your home.

What can i say about Hoot’n in the Barn? I love this quilt so much!! It definitely is one of a kind with Renee Nanneman’s Hootenanny Fabric line. Fussy cut owls with large and small dots, Renee’s fabrics create such a exciting and creative combination! There are a limited number of kits available with all the exact fabrics!

I invite you to take a look in my shop at the Hoot’n in the Barn listing too. You will find a completely different looking quilt made from the same pattern. Fabrics can change the look and feel of each and every quilt.

Last by not least is my latest creation Lolli’s Garden. It’s a late Summer/early Fall inspiration that comes from playing and working on our family farm as a child. Simple enough to make for a strong beginner. All traditionally pieced.

And….a little peak at what’s coming! Design is a process and even though i might begin with an idea and a sketch, it rarely ends up the way i think it will. My owls have already been revised and that has lead to another creative twist. What to put inside the alternate blocks? Stars? Trees? I guess i will know when i know…. My new pattern will be released sometime later next month and i’m calling it Owl City. I love that music group… take a listen Owl City
