Little By Little
I introduced ‘Little by Little’ months ago, but was waiting on a great new line of fabric by Jill Shaulis called Stephenson County. It arrived this past Fall and goodness, i am just getting around to talking about it! Sheesh! Inspired by antique and vintage quilts…
My grandma Cora made one just like the one below, but no one seems to know where it is and so i went hunting online to see if i could find something similar.
I found this treasure on American Antiques Etsy shop and the owner Sandra was so kind to allow me to share photos of her listing and even offered to send the quilt to me to take my own photos. Who does that these days? What a gem she is!
Here is my remake and of course the name came easily…. Cora’s Quilt

Here is my remake called ‘Twinkle Little Stars’.
Tiny stars using tiny half square triangles, but don’t fret! I upsize those tiny pieces using the Magic 8 Method Ya know what is missing though? I really need to throw this in the wash to add that distinct cozy crinkle touch!
And lastly, a 2 block treasure
I honestly don’t remember where i picked this up…but love the simple softness of a hand pieced doll quilt. Used as my inspiration for ‘Baby Buggy’.
The Stephenson County fabrics are much bolder so i added a gray sashing to mellow the look.
The old tattered dog has been mine for over 60 years. It had a wind up mechanism and played music until it just couldn’t any longer. I begged my parents to fix it over and over…they tried. There are stitches to prove it on his tummy. His name is doggie…and still has the sweetest face.
The ‘Little By Little’ pattern has instructions for each quilt. Make them for table toppers, wall hangings, doll quilts, drape them… they are sure to cozy up your home.
