Easter Egg Hunt Egg-2

Did you get 4 eggs completed in the last couple of days? They are pretty easy to make and go together quickly!

Let’s get crack’n on Egg-2 now!

Oops! Before we get crack’n, i forgot to tell you, you will also need (3) 1-1/2” squares from each fabric used in each colored egg. For example, in the purple egg below, cut 3 polka dot, 3 stripe and 3 floral 1-1/2” squares They will be used for cornerstones.

Cutting Instructions for 4 eggs

Plus the 1-1/2” squares for cornerstones

  1. Sew the 1-1/2” x 6-1/2” stripe fabric to the polka dot fabrics. Press towards the stripe.

  2. Sew the 2-1/2” x 6-1/2” center section and press towards the stripe.

3. Refer back to Egg-1 and use the same measurements and marking method. Always make these marks on the larger fabric piece. This will be the top of the egg and will continue to be the same for all the egg blocks.

4. Place the 5” x 2-1/2” background fabrics even with the drawn lines and stitch into place…eggxactly the same as in Egg-1.

5. Mark and sew the 2-1/2” background squares to the bottom corners…just like in Egg-1.

6. Trim and press …again, just like in Egg-1. This method of adding the backgrounds will be consistent with all the eggs.

7. Turn the block over and trim the sides first and then the top.

The egg will measure 6-1/2” x 9-1/2”. Trim all the egg blocks the same way.

Remember, the top of the egg is the larger polka dot rectangle. All the eggs have the larger ‘egg fabric’ on the top.

Embellish

8. Add a small line of Roxanne Glue Baste it and secure some tiny ric rac in place.

9. Stitch ric rac down using 1 stand of matching DMC floss.

Here’s a close up of the hand stitched ric rac
